In 2017, Bassetlaw petitioned, marched, and campaigned against what became an unstoppable decision to close the Children’s ward at nighttime and weekends. High speed racing on the A57 has blighted the lives of local residents for far too long. Concerns about the noise, the speed, the crowds they attract and the fear and risk of a nasty accident are raised with me constantly.

I have used every opportunity to raise these issues with the police and the local authorities, calling for action to bring this under control.

I welcome the police action this weekend. It sends out a very strong message to the racers that they are not welcome in Worksop.🚔 Bassetlaw North Neighbourhood Policing Team

Officers have responded this evening to reports of motor vehicles being driven in an anti-social manner along the A57.

As a result, two vehicles have been seized using the new Section 59 powers, where no prior warning is required.

We would strongly advise anyone considering travelling to Worksop for organised "car meets" or similar gatherings involving anti-social behaviour to think again. We will continue to take robust action against those causing nuisance, danger, and disruption to our communities.
